Howdy. My name is Mark Gold, and I am a junior Biomedical Science major from Palestine, TX. I came to Texas A&M with my heart set on two things…being a baseball player and a yell leader. However, my high school batting average never got above .100, and I’m afraid my arms would fall off if I tried to keep up with our football score doing push-ups. From the moment I stepped onto this campus it was clear to me exactly why so many people consider Texas A&M to be the best University in the nation. I never imagined I could be sitting with my peers for hours in silence while the names of fallen Aggies were read at Muster; or join over ten thousand Aggie students as they give up an entire Saturday morning to clean their city simply to say “Thank you;” or develop the life-long relationships that I now claim because someone was willing to reach out and give me a chance. Because of this display of honor, service, love & respect, I am proud to call 46,000 people my family and College Station my home. I love students because they have changed my life forever. This is why I am seeking to serve as Student Body President; for the opportunity to represent you in humility and respect. I believe in Texas A&M because I believe in the students that make it the greatest University in the nation. Thank you for everything you have done in my home.
